［Shichigahama Kokusaimura - 30 Years of Progress］
2011.3-2020
As a centre for psychological recovery
For more than three months from the day after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the International Village became a refuge for a total of more than 20,000 people. When the shelter was disbanded, many artists volunteered to come and perform to comfort and cheer people up.
The musical group NaNa 5931 expanded its activities, visiting and performing in temporary housing in the town and being invited to perform outside the prefecture. However, in 2020, due to the global pandemic of the new coronavirus, the International Village was closed for three months from March and activities had to be suspended.
